About the role:
To deliver a customer centric approach to verification as defined by CITB levy and grant verification strategy.
To ensure through verification that employer's Levy Returns, and grant claims are accurate complying with legislative requirements and provide support and guidance as necessary.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Carrying out all types of visit interventions for employers including verification of levy returns and grant scheme claims from employers as required by the scheme rules.
- Take appropriate action when issues are identified with levy returns or grant claims.
- Sampling of claims and returns that give an assurance to CITB of their accuracy.
- Communicating feedback appropriately to employers that contribute to a robust approach to the levy and grant system; Managing a caseload of employers to ensure verification interventions occur in a structured and consistent way.
- Communicate with employers to assist with the accurate completion of Levy returns and offer advice to customers on actions that must be taken in the event of errors found.
- To provide support for the appeal process for products and levy grant appeals as necessary.
- Produce clear written reports in plain English for customers and employers with clear guidance and feedback for CITB products including levy and grant.
Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Educated to GCSE standard A-C in at least Maths and English
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
- Ability to manage conflict in difficult situations
- Good level of numeracy skills
- Good level of analytical skills
- Experience of Microsoft Office Applications
- Full UK Driving License
Desirable:
- Educated to A level standard (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of HMRC end of year documentation and processes
- Knowledge of PAYE and Subcontractor methods of payments
- Knowledge of products and legislation relating to Levy and Grant (can be obtained once in post)
- Knowledge of the construction industry
