Qualified Social Worker - Child & Family Team
Pay rate in line with the ADSS pledge
A Qualified Social Worker is required to join a Children & Family Team in Torfaen. Contract will be run til the end of March 2024. Pay rate for this role will be up to £40 per hour umbrella (equivalent of £30.50 PAYE) in line with ADSS pledge rate. You will be based both in the office and at home.
Below are the requirements that candidates must have:
At least 3 years' experience in Court Work, Child protection, LAC
ABE trained (ideally)
Ability to manage a large and complex caseload
Honest, reliable and robust
Can work in a multi-disciplinary team
Able to work on their own initiative, whilst reporting to their line manager for regular discussions
The team are based in the south of the borough in Cwmbran, but it is a small LA and the team will work with families living across the borough open to them so it is very likely to also require visits in Pontypool and Blaenavon. In addition the team have meetings held out of the civic in Pontypool. The role offers flexible working, office based days/admin days, but workers can ultimately manage their own diary. This is a stable team up until some recent changes with manageable caseloads. You will be sharing an office space with another locality team, and also business support and 16+ Team upstairs so it's a nice environment.
You will need to hold a social work qualification and be registered with Social Care Wales.
