Our client are a fast growth business.

They are now looking for an Assistant Buyer to join the team.


You will be working in the home category, to support the Buyer in purchasing across our diverse range of finished goods.


Key responsibilities:


  • Support the Buyer to deliver buying plans.
  • Develop relationships and maintain regular contact with suppliers.
  • Identify supply chain issues and keep abreast of delivery schedules and assist with expediting potential delays.
  • Managing the critical path.
  • Ensure delivery on time and in full.
  • Ensure samples are tracked and monitored.
  • Keep up to speed with market developments comparative shops, products, prices.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers for price comparison and savings.
  • To be flexible and attentive to Customer requirements.
  • Work with QA to meet the correct technical and packaging requirements of the Customer.

Knowledge and Experience:


  • At least 2 years' experience in buying.
  • Keen interest in homewares
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships.
  • Highly organised, capable and able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Reactive, thrives in a fastpaced environment to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Independent and a selfstarter.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic.
