We're thrilled to offer an exciting position for our client based in Southend oon Sea, Essex who are looking to appoint a Governance Support Officer on a permanent basis, at the salary of £33,2810The Governance Support Officer provides professional, confidential and comprehensive administrative and secretarial assistance to the Governance & Corporate Assurance Team , Executive Team, Company Secretary and Board of Management .
To provide administrative support to the Governance & Corporate Assurance Team and Executive Team where required.To support the Governance & Corporate Assurance Team to deliver services to organisations Board and Committees.
To work in partnership with teams to deliver key messages and services to key stakeholders - internal and external.
To support with data governance and compliance with the Data Protection Act and associated regulations.To deliver ad hoc corporate administrative duties, which are broadly consistent with those detailed in this job description.
Work across departments to co-ordinate regulatory and statutory returns and champion the importance of good governance and regulation.
Manage and monitor the centralised corporate policy schedule, ensuring the timely review of policies and that policies remain in date and are processed through the appropriate review and approval route.
Coordinate, arrange and service governance meetings (e.g. Board, Committee, Subsidiary, Executive Team and other formal groups), including agenda planning, proof-reading, quality-checking, collating and timely distribution of papers, and producing accurate notes & minutes - all within required timescales.Provide support to Executives and Board Members, including arranging and minuting meetings, processing expenses and maintaining registers of gifts and hospitality and declared interests.
Support positive relationship management with key stakeholders both internal and externalCo-ordinate requisitions for goods and services within authority and process purchase orders and invoices for the Governance & Corporate Assurance Team.
Source and prepare venues and facilities for events and meetings, obtaining value for money.Knowledge of corporate governance (or a willingness to undertake further development in this area)
Knowledge of social housing regulatory standards
Full IT literacy with excellent knowledge of all Microsoft packages.
Demonstratable excellent writing and verbal communication skills
