Role Description
As a member of the Technical team the Technical Assistant is responsible for the administration of various aspects of the LGC AXIO proficiency testing schemes, including quality control data, production records, purchasing.
Key responsibilities:
- Administration of ERM (IFS) functions, such as purchasing and barcode production
- Perform supporting administration activities to scheme Technical Managers
- Preparation of data for licence checks and submission
- Review of PT scheme production processes, including records and related instructions
- Review and maintenance of QC records and periodic summaries
- Liaise with the quality team on performance of lab QC and the development/implementation of new systems and processes
- Contribute to the production of laboratory procedures relating to preparation and analysis of samples.
- Input and feedback to relevant laboratory and administrative projects.
- To assist in the operation/management of the daily activities of the technical team, meeting agreed deadlines whilst maintaining and improving the quality of samples and service.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience required:
- A minimum of one year's previous work experience, preferably in an administrative/support role
- Familiarity with quality systems/accreditation
- Previous relevant experience working within a scientific field
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Well established organisational skills and a good eye for detail
- Computer literate
- Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
