Activity Support Volunteer Opportunity at ACCG
ACCG, a registered charity providing health and social care services in Manchester, is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity as an Activity Support Volunteer.
Particular skills we are looking for in this role:
- Commitment to ACCG Goals and Values
- Ability to work within ACCG Policies and guidelines
- Basic knowledge of Dementia and Health concerns impacting the elderly community
- Enthusiastic and creative outlook to generate engaging activities
- Good written communication skills, with accuracy and good attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a tram and motivated to work as an individual
- Ability to deal in a professional manner when communicating online, on the phone and in person.
Any additional skills you bring will help us to create a space that reflect the needs of the local communities as well as understand and create sustainable projects that will financially support the cost of restoring and managing the building.
You will be asked to fulfil these duties:
- Creation, planning and coordination of activities with support from the Activity Coordinator.
- To be a point of contact for the service users and organisations accessing the service.
- Update of ACCG systems to record activity engagement.
- Promote best practice for safeguarding, reporting concerns to Management.
- Engage with Service Users for evaluations and feedback.
- Work alongside Wellbeing Workers and Wellbeing Volunteers for the delivery of ACCG activities.
Weekly basis:
Minimum 4 hours per week (min 16 hours per month).
Volunteers will have the position for 6 months (this term can be extended if required).
Volunteers will need to negotiate their time with the Lead Volunteer and Operations Manager or other relevant persons at ACCG.
Volunteers will be reimbursed for agreed out of pocket travel and lunch expenses on a daily basis. Volunteers can also negotiate other perks which might help them find full time work or cover additional costs incurred.Job Type:
