Description

To assemble and dispense in-patient, outpatient and take home medication and to process controlled drug requisitions, following standard dispensary operating procedures.

All assembling and dispensing work is checked.

To participate in the ward based medicines management service, assessing patients own medicines, and organising supplies.

To support the Pharmacy Logistics Service in providing safe, effective and efficient pharmacy purchasing and distribution services.

To work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be guided by professional good practice guidelines.

To work as part of a team and also work independently, using own initiative to deal with routine enquiries e.g availability and supply of medicines to wards, or patients, referring to the Technician or a Pharmacist if necessary.
