Description

Our client, a global manufacturing company is currently seeking an Assembly Operative to join their Operations department at their impressive facility in Bury St Edmunds.

This role is initially offered as a 6 month fixed term contract and has the opportunity of becoming permanent after this time.

The working hours are Monday - Thursday 07:00 - 15:30 and Friday 07:00 - 12:30 and a starting salary of £21,000 - £22,400 per annum depending on experience.


The company design, develop and manufacture high performance products and solutions for the ever-growing image capture and content creation market.

Working within the Manufacturing team, carrying out production duties including manual builds and inspecting products as required. As appropriate, also providing support to others in the department. Working predominantly on Carbon Fibre products, you will be responsible for the mechanical build and inspection. Also to carry out in-process testing and suggest improvements as they should arise to make the process smoother.

Ideally we are seeking someone who has some experience or working with mechanical products working within an assembly environment as well as the following skills and attributes:

  • A flexible attitude to helping in all areas within the department
  • The ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new processes
  • Good understanding of assembly environment
  • Must be well organised with documentation and reporting if required
  • Trouble shooting skills
  • Background in working with mechanical devices
  • Quality focussed
  • Some experience of working with mechanical parts
  • Selfmotivated with drive and enthusiasm to get this done
  • Willing to do additional hours when required at short notice
  • Follow the current company H&S guidance
