An exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join a leading Education organisation and lead a Northern HR team based at their Sheffield, South Yorkshire, office.


This is a truly generalist HR role responsible for managing recruitment, vetting, absence management, communicating payroll changes and employee relations matters across the multiple sites.

The post holder will work closely with the Heads of Departmentsand Head of Human Resources on all HR matters to ensure the provisions are able to operate most effectively to provide an outstanding education for the young people within their care.

The role is based in Sheffield but travel will be required to the other sites as and when required. It would be desirable for the post holder to have a driving license and access to a car.


As HR Manager you will:

  • Realise the importance of safeguarding, with a rigorous approach to vetting and compliance and ensure that the department and all provisions are inspection ready at all times.
  • Have experience of manging a HR department and preferably team members at other sites.
  • Have significant demonstrable experience in conducting investigations, resolving grievances, supporting staff with ill health and similar employee relations processes.
  • Be committed to empowering managers to lead on employee relations process while ensuring they stay compliant with policy and legal frameworks.
  • Be able to work and manage the department in a dynamic, fast paced and complex organisation.
  • Be able to support and develop a team of HR professionals to provide an effective service to the provisions and line managers.
  • Have personal resilience and thrives on challenge and with strong personal leadership skills.


This role is incredibly rewarding and in return, they offer competitive salary package paying circa £42,000-£45,400 DOE, with progression in pay and an auto-enrolment pension scheme.
