Graduate Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)Full Time (Term time only), September 2024 start date
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team and support the growth and development of pupils ages 11-16 in the Newport area.
This role is to begin 2nd September 2024, and will be a temporary contract for the academic year until August 2025.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting teachers and contributing to the overall educational experience of secondary school students.
The Role:
Secondary School Teaching Assistant
Hours approximately 8:30am – 3:30pm per day
Term time only
Newport (NP19)
£12.82 – £14.88 per hour (dependant on experience)
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting classroom teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with additional learning needs
Helping to create engaging and interactive learning materials.
Promoting positive behaviour and implementing the school's behaviour management policies.
Participating in extracurricular activities and school events.
Graduates of all subject specialisms are encouraged to apply.
We are especially keen to hear from anyone with a core subject degree – Maths, Science, English This is also a great opportunity for PE graduates as there are a lot of extra curricular sports clubs you can support within a secondary school.
To be considered for this position, you must be a recent graduate with a degree relevant to education or in a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for working with children and a commitment to their academic and personal development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
