Brief Overview:


Working week
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only, 38 weeks per year

This is a term time only position. You will be paid for 38 working weeks and 5 holiday weeks. You will be paid a pro-rata portion of the advertised annual rate. Your initial hourly rate will be £5.28.


Expected duration

What will the apprentice be doing?


We are looking to appoint an inspirational Teaching Assistant apprentice who engages learners and will join our fantastic team who are striving to provide a rich, extended curriculum and are willing to work as part of our extraordinary team.


In your role as a Teaching Assistant apprentice, you will have the responsibility for nurturing our pupils as well as facilitating learning interventions and focus groups so children can reach their full potential.

You will support with interactive playground activities, lead groups as well as play a leading role in the classroom.


If you have particular skills and experience in sports, forestry, outdoor learning, drama, art, we would love to hear from you.

You will be class based during the day but on occasions be deployed to deliver teaching groups.

  • Assist with teaching and learning of pupils in class.
  • Working as a team member within the staff group to assist with play, wellbeing and mental health, communication with parents and support of children education.
  • Provide feedback to pupils at all stages of their learning.
  • Communicate with parents when required.
  • Lead interventions set by class teacher.
  • Provide resources for pupils to impact learning development.
  • Administer first aid and medication when required.
  • Have good IT skills.
  • Experience of speech and language support

Qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent English and maths (Grade A* to C, 9 to 4 or equivalent) essential

Things to consider

You will be:

  • Working with children every day.
  • Completing occasional break duties and an half hour lunch duty daily. You will play games with the children
  • Expected to wear smart/casual clothing suitable for the role. No blue denim.
  • Holidays must not be taken in term time.
  • Mobile phones should only be looked at in break and lunchtimes or before/after school.
  • Expected to possibly sit on the carpet with the children
  • Paid monthly, not weekly.

About the employer
Luddenham is a one form entry school set on the outskirts of Faversham in a rural location. We are surrounded by countryside and benefit from a wide range of facilities.

We are a stand-alone academy and have a fantastic and supportive staff team who work collaboratively for the benefit of our children and the local community.
