    A Japanese trading company is currently recruiting for an Accounting Associate Manager in London.

    In this role you will be responsible for ensuring day by day accounting work, monthly/quarterly/yearly closing & reporting, and statutory requirements.

    The role will suit someone who is an all-round flexible team player who is looking to work within an accounting role.

    Japanese language is not essential but advantageous.

    Permanent, full-time


    WORKING HOURS:
    Monday to Friday 8 hours per day (including one hour for lunch),
    flexible start time between 7 and 11 am


    SALARY:
    £45-50K depending on experience, plus good benefits

    City of London (This is an office-based role with the potential for hybrid working (2 days working from home) after successful completion of probationary period

    Accounting Associate Manager Main Responsibilities:

    • Taking some delegated responsibilities from general manager or manager
    • Posting/Approving journal entries properly for delegated areas and/or amounts
    • Ensuring day by day accounting work, monthly/quarterly/yearly closing & reporting, and statutory requirements including corresponding financial audit, VAT declaration, and reporting such as national statics
    • Ensuring J-SOX requirement and internal control management such as daily accounting booking procedure, inventory confirmation/check and balance confirmation
    • Assisting the other managers, tax, consolidation, in same department for statutory purpose, group reporting, group management purposes
    • Assisting with the implementation of internal policies and rules related to accounting and tax
    • Assisting some management account areas like preparation of budget & forecast or analysis between result and budget/forecast
    • Managing the day-to-day running of the accounting functions and ad hoc requirements
    • Cooperating with colleagues from group companies or the other overseas offices of their group in Europe & CIS bloc for accounting related work like internal control and tax

    Accounting Associate Manager Ideal Candidate:

    • Strong interest in quantitative analysis and business operations
    • Solid knowledge and experience in accounting work
    • Demonstrable knowledge of accounting treatments (UK GAAP and IFRS)
    • Demonstrable experience of Statutory Account preparation such as VAT return, and statutory reports
    • SAP (S/4 HANA) experience - advantageous
    • Strong Excel skills and Proficient in the use of MS Office
    • Experience and applied knowledge working with a wide range of accounting functions
    • Proven ability in Leadership & Financial Accounting
    • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet tight deadlines whilst managing conflicting priorities
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
    • Taking responsibility for solving problems, proactive and can-do approach
    • Accurate and proven numerical skills
    • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
    • Business level of fluency in English
