This opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of our current Service Director.Responsible for the safe delivery of highly effective mental and physical health services for Forensic Mental Health and Offender Healthcare service user groups, this role has a significant remit, with a budget of circa £104 million and circa1,210 staff, including nursing, medical, psychological therapies, allied health professionals, and management and support staff, as well as being responsible for a number of sub-contracts.
Central to this role is joint working with our service users and their families, and with our external partners, including NHSE, third sector partners and colleagues within HM Prison Service.
Our work with the South London and Maudsley Mental Health Trust and South West London & St George's Mental Trust as the South London Mental Health Partnership (SLP) is well established.
The Service Director will work with SLP partners as the Lead Operational Director with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the programme, and this will involve close liaison with Service Directors/ Leads in the sovereign trusts and the commissioning hub.
Our Offender Healthcare portfolio has seen considerable expansion with the incorporation of services in Kent in 2021 and the south west of England in 2022.
There is now a need to consolidate these services and ensure consistency of quality in service delivery and ensure that staff throughout the directorate feel part of the Oxleas family.
