Job Description

Core Duties

• Design Management: Take the lead as a Design Manager for projects in the UK and internationally, overseeing moderately complex projects with the support of a team.
• Internal management: Contribute to the management function within the Design Management team, aiding the Leadership team in aligning with the business plan and strategic vision.
• Team growth and development: Assist in enhancing the skills and knowledge of Design Management team members through mentorship, training, and evaluations.
• Quality assurance: Review the work outputs of the Design Management team to ensure quality and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Commercial project manager: Obtain certification in managing AECOM's financial procedures and invoicing to ensure projects are financially sound and meet business expectations.
• Relationship management: Cultivate and strengthen client and technical relationships both internally and externally.

With AECOM and the team:

Collaborate closely with team Leadership, Design Management Directors, and regional and sector leads to manage the Design Management team in the UK. Support the Leadership team in various tasks such as business development and team performance reviews.

Develop a robust network within AECOM across different teams and disciplines to enhance project delivery quality for clients.

With Clients and project teams:

Engage actively in project delivery by managing sub-consultants, establishing procedures, monitoring design schedules, overseeing documentation, and controlling project finances.

The team you'll join

The Design Management team consists of diverse professionals across the UK, with expertise in architecture, engineering, project management, and design management. Collaborate with Information Managers and BIM experts to implement industry best practices in project management.

The team supports various business lines within AECOM, including Buildings + Places, Environment, Water, Energy, Transportation, and Program Management.

Be part of a talented team based in the South of England, working on an aviation-sector project.

Qualifications

• Essential:
• Deep interest and understanding of design processes in the built environment.
• Experience in design management, communication, project management, commercial control, attention to detail, independence, team collaboration, and proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Desirable:
• Construction knowledge, aviation sector experience, infrastructure project involvement, scheduling software proficiency, team management skills, and professional institution affiliation.

Located in the Midlands or South of England with access to the Greater London regional office in Aldgate.

Displayed competencies and values will be continually assessed for career progression and development.
