    £40 per hourReference: 67472Engine Design Engineer - Peterborough (Hybrid) - Up to £40/hr - Inside IR35Do you have engine design experience, and are you seeking a new hybrid role in Peterborough? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines recruit a Design Engineer, and the hybrid role comes with a contract rate of £40.00 per hour.

    In your first few weeks in this Design Engineer role, you can expect to:

    Design and package various core engine componentsWork in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure solutions meet customer, durability and functional requirementsDevelop solutions for issues arising from the Quality and Manufacturing environmentsDevelop relationships with suppliers to ensure design solutions are aligned with high quality and cost expectationsSupport FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needsTo apply for this Design Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:A technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering), though other qualifications or experience are equally valuedKnowledge of core engine systems such as rotating systems, valvetrain, castings, lubrication, breather and cooling systemsEngine experience, internal combustion engine experience is highly favoured, diesel engines and petrol enginesGood understanding of component manufacturing principles & processesKnowledge and experience using CREO is a mustKnowledge and usage of Teamcentre is desirableAs a vital member of the team and in return for your expertise, inclusive approach and commitment, we'll provide a favourable contract per hour rate of £40.00 and the chance to join a passionate and welcoming team.
