We're looking for a plant mechanical maintenance supervisor to join the INEOS Acetyls team. We need highly motivated individuals who want to be part of our growing business.

The opportunity


As the plant mechanical maintenance supervisor you are responsible for delivering safe and efficient maintenance activities to the agreed schedule and cost.

This will include direct line management of an Ineos technician team whilst also working closely with the 3rd party term contractors.


From time to time you will be expected to perform maintenance and breakdown tasks when required and you will be responsible for all maintenance activities on that asset.

Key accountabilities
Assist in the development of an outline 12 week and detailed 5 week look ahead plan.

Executing and controlling the plan will be the main function of this role, including the organisation of planned equipment repairs and overhauls and the ongoing review of planned maintenance activities.


Planning and prioritisation of all day to day maintenance and engineering activities, including working with craft team, operations coordinators, other maintenance supervisors/coordinators and trades supervisors to ensure that all engineering and maintenance requests are executed as planned.

Responding to emergent work on a day to day basis, supported by service providers as required. Manage the interface between INEOS and key engineering service providers.


Working with discipline engineers to ensure engineering cover is achieved including providing support and direction on day to day engineering issues with full support from discipline engineers.

Assist in fault finding and Root Cause Investigations.

Monitor work requests being submitted to the maintenance team and services providers and consider priority of work and its impact on maintenance costs.

Ensure engineering and maintenance activities in the field are carried out in an efficient, effective and safe manner. Make and review proposals with discipline engineers to improve efficiency of engineering and maintenance provision.

Champion the condition monitoring systems associated with rotating equipment, analyse and act on readings and reports.


Ensure a good level of understanding within the whole INEOS ETAC Hull Maintenance team of INEOS 20 Safety Principles & Life Saving Rules.

Provide technical advice on a broad range of HSSE issues relating to Control of Work.


Assist in developing and give input into the TAR/Shutdown Scope of work as well as playing an active part in the delivery of plant TAR's and other outages.


About you
You will also have experience of Safety issues associated with the maintenance of static and rotating machinery; Operating within a permit to work system on a major accident hazard site; Planning and executing maintenance tasks; Line management and working with maintenance teams; Use of maintenance management systems (eg. SAP); interfacing with external suppliers.
