Role Purpose


The role of the Team Leader (Cutting) is to support the Production Supervisor in ensuring the safe and operational efficiency of day-to-day production which guarantees optimum performance, achieving all production KPI's, and fulfil customer demands whilst ensuring all company procedures and compliances (both internal and external) are fully met.

The day-to-day operation will typically involve reviewing the daily production demands and scheduling the material through each part of the operation then providing coaching and support to the team ensuring that the schedule is delivered on time and in full.


Key Accountabilities

  • Embed H&S culture of zero tolerance ensuring the policy is fully understood, owned, and implemented by every individual ensuring machine operators have set up machines correctly and all preshift safety checks have been carried out and recorded.
  • Promote the use of TCards for near miss and hazard reporting
- ensuring appropriate feedback and recognition to operators.

  • Ensure all prescribed quality checks are carried out by machine operators, to ensure product quality is not compromised.
  • Live and breathe workplace organisation ensuring the factory is always customer ready.
  • Supervise to execute the production plan, communicating and highlighting any risk to OTIF to Supervisor at earliest opportunity while reviewing department targets on an hourly basis.
  • Takes ownership of daily production information recording monitoring and improving KPIs
  • Monitor efficiencies on shift start up's, change overs, and batch order RAFs at each stage.
  • Conduct weekly stock checks on all consumables within the department and highlight any shortages at the earliest opportunity.
  • Create an open and honest culture of communications between management and factory employees, always aligned to our core values.
  • Deliver optimum results by creating a cando attitude through motivating and encouraging employees.
  • Liaising with Maintenance Department to ensure plant and machinery is kept in full working order, ensuring job requests are logged on maintain.

Experience Desired

  • Excellent team player demonstrating practical leadership in people, product process and plant.
  • Experience in a similar role preferably in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a good understanding of operational metrics and drivers and the use of KPIs to manage an operation.
  • Experience of meeting and exceeding health and safety/environmental/ workplace organisation requirements
  • Demonstrable supervisory and line management skills with a coaching style that gets the best out of people, focused on collaboration and continual improvement.
  • Skilled in logistics
  • Competent IT Skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
