Role Purpose


As well as ensuring that all departments are aware of their own internal training requirements and coordinating all departmental and individual training requests, the Training and Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for providing world class onboarding experiences for all new employees and temporary workers, ensuring high levels of customer service and championing the brand of Scottish Leather Group.


The Training and Onboarding Coordinator will strive to identify positive and impactful changes to the onboarding and training coordination processes, ensuring that the company is making best use of its systems to deliver an efficient and effective service.


Key Accountabilities
Onboarding Activities

  • Coordinate temporary and permanent new start inductions by liaising with the Operations Training Manager, the HR Administrator, the Operations Team and the external employment agency partner when necessary.
  • Ensure relevant parties attend organised inductions in the right place at the right time across the Bridge of Weir, Paisley and Glasgow locations.
  • Present Company onboarding induction presentations and issue onboarding items, such as fobs and relevant paperwork, to both temporary workers and permanent employees when required.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork and systems information is completed on time, to the appropriate standard and filed in the relevant location.
Training Activities

  • Liaise with the Operations Training Manager to ensure learning plans are kept up to date and are applied correctly to all job posts in the learning management system.
  • Manage all training matrix's, ensuring that new employee and refresher training is coordinated via the relevant line manager.
  • Ensure the eLearning system is utilised to the correct standard and managed in a way which ensures high levels of data integrity.
  • Organise internal and external requested training and ensure training courses are added to the learning management system when required.
  • Ensure all completed training is added to the relevant employee file and any expiry dates included.

Experience Desired

  • Demonstrable high quality administration skills with proven experience in using learning management and/or human resources information systems.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Educated to at least national 5 level.
  • Demonstrable experience of challenging the status quo and making suggestions for improvement
  • Excellent IT literacy with high proficiency in Excel and Database Application or HR Information Systems
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Preferable experience working in a similar role.
