Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:00, Term-Time Only


In this role, you will have a significant impact on the lives of students with diverse learning difficulties, disabilities, or special educational needs.

Working under the guidance of classroom teachers and SENCO, your responsibilities will include:


  • Providing tailored support to foster inclusion and development in classrooms and pastorally.
  • Assisting students with reading, writing, and communication tasks.
  • Offering personal care assistance if required.
  • Ensuring the overall wellbeing and safety of students.
  • Implementing IEPS and EHCPs and effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress.


To excel in this role, you must have an understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and relevant support strategies.

You may be working with Autism, ADHD, SLD, and other complex needs.

Some individuals may also have communication difficulties, so any further experience of BSL, PECS, Makaton, or other non-verbal methods of communication would be valuable.


Qualifications / Skills Required:


  • Knowledge / Understanding of SEND Needs
  • Minimum 5 GCSE's including Maths / English at a grade C / Level 4 or above
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to build strong relationships based on trust and respect
  • A good sense of humour, and positive attitude
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Versatility and adaptability
