Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Pocklington

No weekends

4 x 12 hour shifts days and nights 6-6 Monday to Thursday

Our client in Pocklington is looking for an electrically biased maintenance engineer for their manufacturing facility based in Pocklington.

A staggered pension scheme with the maximum contributions being 7% from the employee and 11% from the employer, which gives 8 X death in service benefit.

There is opportunity for overtime and working on continuous improvements.


Duties:


  • To carry out the maintenance and improve all fixed plant and facilities on the site; assist in the preventative maintenance to ensure maximum availability, performance and quality.
  • Work in a safe manor and ensure all plant is kept in a safe working condition.
  • To cooperate with managers and team leaders in the development and implementation of SHE policy and procedures in order to achieve an excellent safety record with the aim of eliminating SHE accidents and incidents.
  • To cooperate with managers and team leaders in order to operate and maintain plant to produce product at world class levels of performance, quality and cost.
  • To cooperate with managers and team leaders to keep the stores clean tidy and in order therefore making the inventory including the assessment of items held, stock levels a clean easy process
  • To cooperate with managers and team leaders in the development and implementation of planned preventative maintenance procedures in order to achieve high availability on all plants
  • To work with managers, support functions and operational teams to identify and implement continuous improvement methods with respect to safety, availability, product quality and cost.
  • To build and maintain effective relationships both within the local manufacturing teams, and with nonmanufacturing colleagues to ensure excellence in terms of customer service.
  • Support the Site to ensure maximum flexibility so ensuring that all equipment achieves its performance, availability and quality targets

Responsibilities/tasks:

  • Maintain plant to a high standard.
  • Repair plant and facilities as required within your degree competence.
  • Ensure all repairs are safe and the plant produces to the required performance, quality and cost.
  • Repair plant that has been identified by the PPM checks.
  • Stay informed of current and upcoming Legislation.
  • Ensure all contractor repairs under your supervision are completed safely and to the correct standard
  • Ensure all plant repairs are completed to ensure the longevity of the plant.
  • Communicate all work completed to the relevant teams and managers.
  • Strive for continuous improvements in all aspects to OEE improvement.
  • Participate and lead Focus improvement teams using problem solving and Route cause analysis tools to deliver improved OEE.
  • Assist with driving forward change in either process or machinery.
  • Deliver solutions to enable the introduction of new equipment from procurement to production hand over.
  • Ensure everything is done to minimise downtime and improve the reliability of the plants and increase OOE.
  • Out of hours may be required as agreed with your shift pattern
