Description
LIGMOT (lower gastrointestinal dysmotility) is a multi-disciplinary team pathway for children with refractory constipation and/or faecal incontinence (soiling), within the gastroenterology service at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
is a crucial part of our NEUROGASTROENTEROLOGY AND MOTILITY UNIT. Management of all conditions seen in the service is based on evidence-based medicine or expert consensus-based guidelines/pathways wherever possible. This includes, for example, planning for clinics, admissions and investigation lists and management decisions thereafter. The gastroenterology service at Great Ormond Street is world renowned for its expertise and specialist care provision. We are looking for a dynamic nurse to join us in continuing our great care provision.The ethos of the team is to offer a holistic assessment of a child's needs incorporating both physical and emotional/psychological needs.
The post holder will work part-time within the gastroenterology team.The post holder will liaise directly with external hospitals and community teams to facilitate the safe management of relevant patients.
The post holder will attend LIGMOT Clinic and have nurse led input.Provide effective nursing leadership, advice and support to the team and department to ensure the provision of high-quality care for all service users.

NMC Registered Nurse (Child) (or Registered Nurse/ Midwife relevant to area of practice e.g. Mental Health / Neonatology/ Theatre)
Evidence of on-going dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty linked to demonstrable clinical competencies
Relevant First Degree in health care related subject
Handling safeguarding issues according to Trust policies and procedures
Experience of handling clinical incidents and complaints
Understanding of professional and current issues in children's nursing.
Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk, and quality issues
