    Description

    This role is an exciting temporary/interim opportunity based in Mildenhall, focusing on managing the purchasing of materials and consumables to ensure timely delivery of products. As part of the role, you will:

    • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to drive continuous improvements in ERP systems
    • Oversee stock control to maintain accurate stock levels at all times
    • Provide daily reports to the Business regarding any lead time issues affecting customer delivery
    • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning process to manage production demand and communicate with internal stakeholders
    • Develop strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices, and ensure positive outcomes
    • Proactively address and resolve supplier/customer/stakeholder issues to build trust and reputation in the market
    • Facilitate communication between purchasing and other business areas to ensure up-to-date cost information
    • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements
    • Collaborate with Quality to ensure product specifications are met
    • Provide financial insights for New Product Introductions and participate in RFQs
    • Lead and develop the purchasing team to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement
    • Engage in lean initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
    • Prioritize Health and Safety practices at all times

    Essential skills for this role include:

    • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
    • Experience in staff management, goal setting, and performance evaluations
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
