The Opportunity

Nigel Wright are excited to be supporting a large, reputable organisation in Newcastle upon Tyne as they grow their Credit Control function.

Working within a hardworking and friendly Finance function as part of the Credit Control team, you'll be responsiblefor the recovery of third party debt providing a first class cash collection service

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for chasing and collection of any overdue debt for your own portfolio of clients.
  • Liaising with customers in an understanding yet encouraging manner in order to get to the desired outcome.
  • Updating the shared report activity with regards to aged debt.
  • Sending insightful correspondence to both clients and customers.
  • Escalating any issues to other areas of the business where required, liaising with other departments to resolve payment issues.
  • Learning with time, to advise on initial litigation procedures.
  • Setting up and cancelling direct debits.

About You
Ideally, you'll be an experienced Credit Controller who is used to proactively chasing individuals for payment over the phone.

  • This role is suited to somebody with proven experience of working in a Credit Control team.
  • This role is predominantly site based, although hybrid working policy is in place (1 day per week at home)
