- Effective registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Specialist qualification eg BPNA PET Level 1 (or willingness to work towards)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding paediatric epilepsy team. We are a small team that covers both acute and community services. The role involves providing specialist support children, young people and their families who have a diagnosis of epilepsy.
The team support young people to self manage their condition with an emphasis on transition. The team focuses on preventing inappropriate hospital admissions. This role requires an autonomous practitioner who is able to participate in nurse led clinics.
Main duties of the job
To work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team around the child and young people who have a diagnosis of epilepsy.
Plan develop and coordinate care around service users.
Assess patients, plan and implement care plans based on specialist knowledge of epilepsy.
To be able to provide education to children, young people, families and other professionals involved in the care plan on epilepsy management.

To provide specialist care for families and carers who have a child or young people (CYP) with a diagnosis of epilepsy. The successful applicant will be responsible, with support from the Clinical Lead Nurse, for designing and developing a multi-disciplinary service putting the child and family at the centre of decision making with the aim of equipping young people with the necessary skills to self-manage their condition through the period of transition into adulthood.
