    Infrastructure Project Engineer at Leading IT Services Company

    Our client is a prominent provider of IT managed services, on-site support, and field engineering to the Education sector. Specializing in serving public and private schools, multi-academy trusts, colleges, and universities, they have recently secured multiple contracts and undertaken various school projects, necessitating the hiring of a dedicated Infrastructure Project Engineer.

    As an Infrastructure Project Engineer, you will be at the helm of designing and executing IT solutions, encompassing server, storage, network, wireless, audio-visual, and security projects. Your primary task is to tailor these projects to meet the specific requirements of the clients, managing the entire project lifecycle from inception to completion. Your unwavering focus on technical accuracy and client contentment is paramount, whether at construction sites or diverse project locations.

    This position entails frequent travel throughout the UK to supervise network installations at customer sites. During term time, you will spend three days on-site anywhere in the country and two days in the office. Expect to be on-site or away during most school holidays. Ideally, proximity to the office is preferred for added flexibility when not on-site. The aim is to strike a balance between efficiency and flexibility in network installations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct technical pre-sales activities for networking and wireless opportunities.
    • Provide technical consultancy and audit services as required.
    • Create technical design documentation to enhance project and sales processes.
    • Supervise project delivery, encompassing both remote and on-site installation and configuration.
    • Deliver third-line support services directly to clients and serve as an escalation point from the support desk.
    • Assist in evaluating and developing new products and services.

    Skills and Requirements:

    • Extensive experience working with Aruba switching, Aruba network (Aruba AirWave, Aruba Central, Aruba ClearPass), and wireless technologies.
    • Familiarity with HyperVisor technologies like Hyper-V and VMWare
    • Proficiency with Smoothwall appliances
    • ACSP, ACMP, ACCP, ACDP, or equivalent certifications
    • Demonstrated capability to craft comprehensive high and low-level design documentation.
    • Skilled in conducting customer site surveys/audits and generating essential reports.
    • Competent in deploying and supporting enterprise LAN/WLAN infrastructure.
    • Proven expertise in devising and implementing intricate configurations.
    • Hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting security devices such as Firewalls and Web filters.
    • Knowledge of network authentication methods, including Radius, and proficiency in Microsoft NPS.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Effective workload prioritization to meet client and company expectations.
    • Flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities, with a readiness to adapt to evolving business requirements.
    • Preferably with prior experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) setting, with an emphasis on pre-sales activities.

    Location: Fareham, Hampshire + Travel

    Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 PA (Negotiable based on experience)

    Status: Full-Time, Permanent
