Responsible To
The post holder is directly responsible to and managed by the Stores Supervisor.


Overall Purpose of the Job


The post holder's primary purpose is support the day to day running of the stores department, within a busy aerospace company.


Main Duties and Responsibilities
Day to day activities to include but not limited to:

  • To pick (issue) parts required for job kits.
  • On receipt of new parts check incoming paperwork and certification for accuracy and log them into the system
  • Assist the shopfloor staff with requests for parts and tooling
  • Liaise with other departments to support the smooth running of the company
  • To carry out manual handling as required
  • To carry out stock checks
  • Understanding and reacting positively to changing work priorities
  • Ensuring work is being completed in accordance with the agreed schedule and customer requirements

Essential Skills
The Stores Assistant will ideally have the following essential skills and experience:

  • Previous stores or warehousing experience
  • Basic IT skills
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to be accurate paying attention to detail

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Forklift truck licence preferred but not essential
  • Have a clean and fulldriving licence
  • Some knowledge or interest in aviation
  • Not afraid to challenge the status quo

Terms and Conditions
This is a full time permanent role.


The hours of work are: 40 hours (Predominately Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00) however given the nature of the aerospace business they must be flexible, to meet the job requirements.
