BUYER

Responsible To
The post holder is directly responsible to and managed by the Operations Manager. However, the post holder may also receive instructions from the Managing Director.


Overall Purpose of the Job


The post holder's primary purpose is to competitively source and purchase parts, components and consumables to support the operational requirements of Brinkley Aerospace.

To supply key information on price and lead time to Customer Services and the relevant stakeholders in the wider organisation.


Main Duties and Responsibilities
Day to day activities to include but not limited to:

  • Source parts and materials required to support the Brinkley Aerospace operation.
  • Negotiate competitive Price and Leadtimes.
  • Place, record and track purchase orders.
  • Update acknowledgements and reply in a timely manner.
  • Print and check supplier invoices.
  • Update prices on purchase orders.
  • Update the Customer Service Team with Price and Leadtimes.
  • Build close relationships with all our suppliers.
  • Flag buying related Risks and Issues to all relevant stakeholders within Brinkley in a timely manner.
  • Send live due in values to finance.
  • Understanding and reacting positively to changing work priorities.
  • Ensuring work is being completed in accordance with the agreed schedule and customer requirements.
  • Producing monthly KPI data and attend the monthly KPI meeting.

Essential Skills
The Buyer must have the following essential skills and experience:

  • To have a minimum of three years working as a buyer preferably in an aviation environment or have relatable and transferable skills.
  • To have worked in fast paced time critical office environment as part of a team.
  • To have an aptitude for creating productive relationships with suppliers and other team members.
  • Be flexible with start and finish times to align with suppliers in the USA and worldwide.
  • To occasionally represent Brinkley Aerospace at trade shows in the UK and Abroad.
  • Is computer literate and competent using the MS Office suite

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Have a clean and fulldriving licence
  • Some knowledge or interest in aviation
  • Not afraid to challenge the status quo.

Terms and Conditions
This is a full time permanent role.


The hours of work are: 40 hours (Predominately Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00) however given the nature of the aerospace business they must be flexible, to meet the job requirements.
