Senior Buyer - Raw Materials

Temporary 6 Months Contract

Billingham


Jackson Hogg Procurement is delighted to be partnered exclusively with a manufacturing business near Billingham on the appointment of a Senior Buyer - Raw Materials on a
6 Month Contract to join their busy procurement function.

The organisation operates flexible working arrangements around their core hours of 09:30-12:00 and 14:00-15:30.

There is the opportunity for this position to be extended further.


Senior Buyer - The Role:


  • The Senior Buyer Raw Materials leads the sourcing activity for Raw Materials for the assigned categories across all EAME, APAC sites and are the key contact person for their allocated site(s).
  • The position will provide category and market knowledge, procurement expertise, lead negotiations for the assigned categories and understand the sites' requirements to fully meet the needs of the site for raw materials.
  • The position will deliver cost reduction and cost avoidance, reduce supply risk, contribute to increasing cash flow and secure supply of raw materials to the sites at most advantageous terms possible whilst fully complying with defined controls, values, and culture.
  • Purchasing Spend Managed: ca m Euro, depending on allocated categories
  • Delegation of Authority (DOA) for purchase orders with value 10k$ to 100 k$
  • Tender, negotiate and implement price agreements and contracts; cooperate with legal department on contract reviews when required and process contracts in contract's database.
  • Provide Operational Purchasing with information to raise orders, outline agreements, and maintain purchasing data in the system. Ensure accuracy of master data.

The Skills/Experience:


  • Proven success within a Senior Buyer position, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability within procurement is highly beneficial and desirable
  • Experienced managing multiple categories simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build commercial relationships and rapport with international suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • High competency working with Excel
  • SAP knowledge is advantageous
  • Commercially astute and process driven with a keen eye for opportunities for continuous improvement in developing new processes as well as improving existing ones
