Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work with adults in the Adult Weight Management Service and the North of Tyne Chronic Fatigue Service within our Long-Term Conditions Faculty.
This is part of the wider Psychology in Healthcare Service which provides psychological support to adult, children and neuropsychology patients.
The Adult Weight Management Service (0.The team is based in the community delivering our service at different locations across the city. The office base is at Regent Point, Gosforth. We work closely with our medical colleagues in the RVI. Individualised assessments, formulation and psychological therapies are provided, including CBT, EMDR, ACT, and CFT. A Doctorate inClinicalPsychologist, Counselling Psychology or doctoral level Applied Psychologist (Health).
Training in models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
Doctorate level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology.
Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings.

The Psychology in Healthcare service provides training places and teaching for the local DClinPsych course.Showing professionalism when working with patients who may become distressed in the face ofongoing difficulties with their health.
Being aware of the challenges and potential stigma faced by patients with long-term health conditions.

Candidates should be organised and self-motivated to manage own workload across out-patient and community settings.

In weight management, helping the team in reducing inequalities in the care we provide to people living with obesity.
Support the weight management team to collate data, to aid the evaluation of the evolving service. Group work/Teaching and TrainingAble to deliver psycho-educational material, and content on fatigue management and adjustment for patients.
Delivering groups with content on disordered eating, emotional eating, and behaviour change.
Training for professional groups.
Being involved in research and audit service development opportunities.
You will provide psychological therapy services face to face, or via telephone and video appointments.
In the Adult Weight Management Service, patients are from the Newcastle area. You will see patients face-to-face, or via telephone and video appointments.

Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
Training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or fields of applied psychology.
Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings.
Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.
In addition to obtaining the necessary qualifications and experience to practice as a clinical psychologist, has additional knowledge of National Good Practice of working as a clinical psychologist in Health Services.
Well developed skills in the ability to empathise and communicate effectively, orally and in writing complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHSSkills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
Doctorate level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology.
Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnosis, people with additional disabilities, etc.)
High level of knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies.
Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
