Contract to start on until with a possible extension.


Building services officer to carry out close down of building, room moves, room set ups, minor maintenance, security key issue.


Job Purpose:

Provide a range of essential services related to the operation & management of corporate buildings including but not limited to:
Building Open & Close

Porterage & Delivery Services

Compliance Testing

Minor Maintenance

Room Set-up & Clearance

Provide Working from Home Equipment

Assist with Post Room Activities

Assist with Reception Services

First Aider


Responsibilities
Ensure the security of Council buildings providing safety of keys and applicable tools.

Regularly patrol the building campus (internally & externally) notifying responsible person of any security issues.

Assist as appropriate with disruptive & aggressive situations within Campus buildings.

Control access of contractors and other authorised persons as necessary.

Ensure appropriate daily access to buildings especially in the event of snow, flooding or similar emergency situations.

Carry out weekly compliance tests (Alarms, Water, Lights).

Transport items between & around corporate buildings using appropriate equipment provided.

Document deliveries and action accordingly.

Carry out minor maintenance (including but not limited to replacing lighting consumables, clearing blocked toilets, drains etc.).

Ensure outside equipment and enclosures are free from debris and vegetation (EG: Air-con vents).

Ensure all areas are kept clean and clear of rubbish (internal & external).

Identify maintenance issues and deal with accordingly, notifying appropriate responsible person. When necessary place work requests via appropriate method

Keep corridors & escape routes clear of obstruction.

Ensure safe & proper disposal of all waste from buildings

Hang banners & flags according to policy

Set up rooms for meetings as required

Provide support as may be necessary to the public & staff entering & departing the buildings

Administer First Aid where required, in accordance with training provided

Assist with emergency evacuations including use of Evac chairs in accordance with training provided

Provide staff with equipment enabling them to work from home
