- Individual Support: Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum, develop their skills, and build confidence in their abilities. You will work closely with teachers to implement tailored learning strategies and interventions that meet the individual needs of each student.
- Classroom Assistance: Collaborating with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued. You will assist in delivering lessons, adapting materials, and implementing behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.
- Assessment and Progress Tracking: Monitoring and recording the progress of students with SEN, using assessment tools and feedback from teachers to identify areas for development and celebrate achievements. You will contribute to the planning and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring that interventions are effective and outcomes are measurable.
- Communication and Collaboration: Building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers to foster a collaborative approach to SEN support. You will communicate regularly with key stakeholders, sharing updates on student progress, discussing strategies for improvement, and seeking feedback to inform your practice.
- Behaviour and Wellbeing: Supporting students with SEN in developing their social and emotional skills, promoting positive behaviour, and fostering a nurturing and inclusive school environment. You will work proactively to address any behavioural or emotional challenges, providing guidance, encouragement, and pastoral care as required.
- Previous experience working with students with SEN, either in an educational setting or a similar support role, is essential.
- A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs, with a compassionate and patient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies, interventions, and best practices, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
- A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students and respond to challenges with creativity and resilience.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from £1677 to £2000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Full-time position starting after May half term until the end of the academic year, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent based on performance and school requirements.
