I am delighted that you are interested in joining their team as Deputy Director of Global Trade and Investment (GTI), Deputy Director of Public Sector or Deputy Directorof Economic and Microdata Insights in the Macroeconomic & Environment Statistics and Analysis Directorate, part of the Economic Statistics & Environment Group.


They are seeking inspirational leaders and creative problem solvers, with strong analytical and strategic skills, demonstrated experience in senior stakeholder engagement, and team players who can work with colleagues within and outside of theirs to succeed.

Deputy Director, Economic Microdata and Insights Division


The Economic Microdata and Insights (EMI) Division employs around 100 staff, and is part of the Macroeconomic and Environment Statistics and Analysis (MESA) Directorate.


You will be responsible for the following teams:

  • Economic and Cross-

Cutting Analysis:

Providing analysis on prices and the labour market, as well as rapid response and cross-cutting economic analysis and briefing, as part of their Analytical Hub.


  • Economic Insights Unit: Analysis of key economic issues and macroeconomic trends, briefing the Chief Economist and their Senor Leadership Team.
  • Realtime

Microdata Research:
Development and analysis of financial transactions microdata to provide real time insights and indicators.

  • Economic Microdata Transformation: Developing granular and integrated economic and business microdata, and using administrative data to improve their economic statistics.
