We are seeking a Care and Support Assistant to deliver personalised care and support and make a real difference to the lives of our residents.


Set in a quiet, residential area of Basildon, Poplar House is a purpose-built development providing high-quality homes with a range of on-site services and facilities.

We ensure that residents enjoy their retirement in comfort, whilst continuing to live independently, with the peace of mind that help is on hand if they need it.

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Delivering a high level of personalised care and support and encouraging our residents to live as independently as possible
  • Assisting residents with shopping, cleaning and laundry tasks
  • Helping residents to arrange and attend appointments i.e. with their GP
  • Assisting and encouraging residents to access and maintain a level of integration into the wider community
  • Promoting a positive culture by engaging with residents to prevent social isolation
  • Keeping accurate and uptodate records

Skills and experiences:


  • Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or willing to work towards
  • Ideally have experience of working in a similar, care related role
  • Enthusiastic and personcentred with a strong "cando" attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication skills with an approachable nature
