A multi award-winning eCommerce agency in Leeds are looking for a Backend Developer with good MVC experience (ideally Symfony) to join their dynamic and highly skilled team.

What skills you'll need:


  • Good commercial experience of backend web development with PHP.
  • PHP MVC preferably Symfony framework.
  • Use of ORMs such as Doctrine (and ideally SQL knowledge).
  • Working regularly with APIs and Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc).
  • Unit Testing.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Real drive to learn and grow with a supportive company.

A few nice to have skills:

- eCommerce platform experience.

  • Payment gateways.
  • API platform experience / Building restful API's.
  • Experience / Awareness of AWS/Cloud architecture.
  • Knowledge of design principles (SOLID, DRY, etc) and design patterns.
  • Use of TDD would be amazing.

What you'll be doingOverall company size is roughly 50 in total, half of which are in Tech roles who design, build, manage and support high-performing, complex eCommerce stores. Very much a team of experts including consultants, project managers, designers, developers and engineersand help to solve complex challenges that deliver best-in-class eCommerce experiences for their clients' customers.
You'll be working within a delivery team.

There are four delivery teams in total, with each one consisting of a Project Manager, 2 x BackendDeveloper, 2 x Front-End Developer, a designer and a UX/UI person too.

You'll be building, upgrading, editing, improving code, communicating with people across all levels in the business too.

You'll also be someone who really wants to grow with the company and who isn't afraid to ask questions, wants to be in the office and workclosely with others.
