Hackney is one of Britain's most exciting and fastest-changing boroughs. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself.

The challenges that have arisen over the last two years have intensified the need for action and we are determined to rebuild Hackney for, and with, our diverse communities.

We are looking for someone with a passion for digital communications and climate action to join our team.

You will provide support to the wider external communications and engagement team with all digital campaign touchpoints, ensuring we are talking to and engaging our residents on the channels they use most, with content that resonates with them.

As Digital Communications Officer, you will bring expertise and creativity to the team and help transform the communications output into the gold standard for digital communications.

You will be proactive and quick to learn new skills, able to keep on top of a complex and constantly changing landscape.

You must be able to work with a diverse set of stakeholders, from politicians to residents to senior officers, with the ability to sell-in ideas to meet our communication objectives, in particular for video content.

You must have good IT skills including Google Suite, in particular Slides, Docs and Sheet as well as content creation skills, from capture to design and editing using specialist software including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

You must have a good technical understanding of all relevant digital channels and their formats and audiences.

The recruitment process is anonymous. Therefore, we do not accept supporting statements or CVs.

Interview and Assessment date: 28 March 2024

We are also working towards our vision, which is to be a place for everyone; where residents and staff can be proud; a place that celebrates diversity and where everyone can feel valued, included and involved.

In order to achieve this, we look for people who are:
Proud; Ambitious; Pioneering; Open; Proactive; Inclusive.
