Role Overview


Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Clerk will be responsible for the day to day operational activities of the Finance Department.

The role is office based at Cheadle Royal Business Park, SK8 3TD where you will be assisting the incumbent team, ensuring high professional standards are always maintained.

You will play an integral role in supporting the Finance function, working with the Finance Manager, to deliver financial reports and management information on a timely and accurate basis.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of invoices, contracts and customer statements.
  • Chase debtors for overdue invoices.
  • Allocate cash receipts from customers to invoices.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivables ensuring timely payment of invoices
  • Processing of Employee Expenses
  • Assist the Management Accountant in the monthly bank reconciliations process, ensuring all transactions are allocated and understood.
  • Prepare weekly debtors and creditors, working with the Management Accountant to maintain ledgers in Xero for management and statutory accounting requirements.
  • Assist the Management Accountant in paying creditors on a timely basis ensuring cashflow of the Group is managed on a daily basis.
  • Work with the business to resolve credit control issues, to ensure that our debtor days are as low as possible, focussing on working capital
  • Perform other, adhoc projects (support Finance Manager as required)
  • Be willing to assist and support any new Finance Team members, training and sharing best practice.

Skills

  • Must have_
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper/Finance Clerk or in a similar role
  • Highly experienced in in using Xero accountancy software.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software Xero required.

Salary and Benefits:


Salary:
£26,000 - £29,000
