    Job Title: Vocational Instructor

    Location: CITB - Bircham Newton 5 days per week with occasional travel as required

    Role purpose:

    To deliver top-notch vocational education and training to all learners, incorporating specialized knowledge, skills, and behaviors essential in the industry and recognized by external accrediting bodies.

    Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

    • Plan and conduct engaging practical and theory lessons that reflect industry-specific knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
    • Create high-quality inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment resources.
    • Offer personalized learning and support based on learners' individual needs.
    • Provide regular feedback to learners to facilitate their improvement.
    • Monitor learners' progress using the Learner Management System.
    • Enhance learners' personal, English, math, and digital skills.
    • Collaborate with Apprenticeship Development Coaches/Apprenticeship Officers to keep learners and employers informed about progress.
    • Ensure Vocational Assessors are updated on learners' progress at all times.
    • Participate in learner review processes and implement strategies to support struggling learners.
    • Assist apprentices in developing workplace skills if necessary.
    • Offer career progression guidance to learners.
    • Adhere to safeguarding policies and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
    • Promote safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals and stakeholders.
    • Participate in relevant workshops and training sessions to stay updated on teaching methodologies.
    • Demonstrate positive behaviors and attitudes towards colleagues and learners.

    We may occasionally adjust these duties in alignment with the organization's evolving needs.

    Knowledge and Experience:

    Essential:

    • Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification directly related to the role.
    • Specialist license to practice relevant qualifications.
    • Relevant industry experience in construction.
    • Current industry knowledge.
    • Minimum Level 3 teaching qualification (or commitment to obtain within one year).
    • Assessor Awards (or commitment to achieve within one year).
    • Evidence of continuous professional development.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Educated to level 2 or higher in English and math.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable: Higher construction qualification, Level 5 teaching qualification, Experience in apprenticeship delivery.
  • Special Conditions/Other Requirements:

    • Availability for non-standard hours.
    • Travel willingness and occasional overnight stays.
    • Full Driving Licence.
    • Enhanced DBS check.
