Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers with experience in assisting young adults in achieving independent living goals.

As a Support Worker, you will provide invaluable support and guidance to individuals as they transition into adulthood and work towards self-sufficiency.

This role is based in the Greater Manchester area, including Ashton-under-Lyne and Oldham.


Key Responsibilities:


Individualized Care:

Provide one-on-one support to young adults to help them develop essential life skills, including budgeting, cooking, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.


Goal Setting:
Collaborate with clients to set and achieve personal goals related to independent living, education, employment, and personal development.


Emotional Support:
Offer emotional support and encouragement to young adults facing challenges and obstacles in their journey towards independence.


Crisis Intervention:

Be prepared to handle crisis situations and provide immediate assistance as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.


Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of client progress, support plans, and any incidents, and report to supervisors as required.


Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members, families, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to client support.


Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in support work, ideally with young adults in independent living programs.
  • Knowledge of local resources and services for young adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and patience when working with individuals facing challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility with work hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
