We focus on helping our customers who are experiencing financial difficulty in meeting with their rent obligations and seeking out solutions and outcomes which helps our customers address these challenges and invariable taking a load off their mind, making this a rewarding experience for you.
Also as an integral team member, you will support the Income Manager in the delivery of the vision, priorities and initiatives of the Income team.
Your attitude and approach to problem solving will make you successful in this role and you will thrive on responsibility.
As early intervention before debts get out of control is our primary focus, you will be responsible for your own patch of properties, managing high level current tenancy debt with a big focus on driving these debts down, contacting tenants via varied communication methods available, setting affordable payment arrangements and referring customers onto relevant support who can provide assistance as needed.
We want our officers to keep developing their leadership skills and have integrated the line management of an Income Advisor into your role, where you will be responsible for carrying out performance related responsibilities such one to one reviews, training and support etc.
- Experience in a frontline customerfacing role within a general needs housing environment, or a similar background relevant to income collection.
- An understanding of housing benefit, universal credit and welfare reform legislation.
- Strong communication skills, with colleagues and customers alike, in an engaging and welcoming way.
- Ideally have knowledge of the legal system as you will be required to coordinate and undertake the timely preparation of all court documents i.e. the court process as the role includes representation at court and the PCOL system.
- A willingness to find a solution for customer's individual needs, including effectively negotiating repayment arrangements to ensure a payment first culture with positive outcomes.
- Good IT skills with Microsoft Office packages.
- Attention to detail, and an excellent work ethic
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
