An exciting opportunity for a strong Planner to join our Planning team, To manage the production plan at all stages, from initial scheduling, managing morning production meetings, updating to reflect absence and raising concerns at the earliest stage.


Job Role


As Production Planner, you will be expected to manage your workload to ensure the production plan is reflective of current progress and raise due-date accomplishment concerns.


Main duties include:


  • Liaise with Management Team to promote continual improvement of the planning system
  • Work with department managers to ensure that all live routes are kept up to date and reflect the current Planned vs. Actual report justifying deviations where required.
  • Collaborate with Operations Team to provide realtime information on production priorities, material supply and On / Behind target.
  • Analyse product trends to ensure appropriate stock on hand.
  • Coordinate production workflow of multiple product lines.
  • Maximise production efficiency time with effective planning processes.
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Identifying and addressing production delays or bottlenecks.
  • Generate and maintain the production schedule document each day, ensuring all responses and relevant information is captured and communicated.
  • Monitor project progression and raise duedate accomplishment concerns to the Management Team where necessary.
  • Ensure effective daily resource allocation is carried out to allow the best opportunity for duedate accomplishment.
  • Liaise with relevant department managers about issues throughout the day, ensuring communication is maintained and projects are pushed through to the next department efficiently.
  • Ensure Works Orders are generated in time for the work to start in the relevant department and their respective operations kept up to date and then ensure any changes are communicated through the correct channels.
  • Analyse the Resource Usage Forecast to ensure Department Managers are aware of any potential concerns.
  • Manage MRP, planning and Works Order production for all internally manufactured items.
  • Preparation and ongoing monitoring of F1 planning and logistics.
  • Become fully verse with the planning system in order to train all users where required.
  • Key account management for the Managing Director where required.
  • Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy.
  • Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives.
  • 3 years relevant experience within a similar role
  • Resource Management experience
  • MRP and Planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • SIOP or S&OP experience (would be beneficial)
  • Initiative to keep processes moving.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Seavus (would be beneficial)
  • Experience with access Orchestrate (would be beneficial)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential for this role
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively
