Job Description:


  • N.B This position can be based in the UK, Australia (Perth / Brisbane) or in Brazil.


This position will see you become part of a highly specialised team, who consistently push the boundaries of digital, technology, and automation innovation to drive a smarter, safer, and more sustainable enterprise.


Core Responsibilities (amongst others):


  • Create, maintain, and standardize a data visualization library, establishing display standards across various platforms (web, mobile, desktop) and assisting teams in developing specific visualizations.
  • Provide strategic input for data visualization approaches and support the maintenance of visualization tools.
  • Develop prototypes to demonstrate interactions around charting controls.
  • Assist product teams in creating complex visualizations for specific use cases.
  • Conduct usability studies for visualizations and provide recommendations for accessibility.
  • Develop and design interactive, visually appealing data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik to aid in data presentation and decisionmaking.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to understand and analyze data requirements, ensuring visualizations are intuitive, userfriendly, and aligned with current trends and best practices.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree Design, Information design, Informatics, Applied mathematics and statistics or Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology
  • Sound knowledge and experience of data visualisation
  • Understanding of enterprise data, data quality, data integration, data lake and data quality workflows
  • Knowledge of various chart types (bar, line, pie, scatter, etc.) and when to use them based on the data and objectives.
  • Tools such as Power BI, or other relevant software to create visualizations.
  • Understanding of mining value chain and experience in working with 3D block models and/or earth observation imagery a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of UX principles to create userfriendly and intuitive interactive visualizations and dashboards.
