Job Description:
- An opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Administrator to join the team based at our Ascot manufacturing site, reporting into the Supply Chain Manager. The role will be a critical contributor to the site's drive toward volume manufacturing with zero stock out position and tight inventory control and will involve a combination of both administrative and hands on duties.
Duties & Tasks
Buying
- Identify requirements for raw materials & consumables.
- Manage supplier purchase orders/approvals from internal requisitions/PO generator/Projects based on agreed levels
- Proactively resolve issues regarding supplier delivery, price, quality, delivery or invoice.
- Prepare accurate purchase records and inventory records throughout the process, including pricing, order quantities, outstanding quantities, and deliveries associated with the purchase.
- Handle E6/supplier inquiries and communications about orders, price quality and deliveries.
- Maintain JDE price accuracy.
- Manage the upkeep of component product Bill of Materials to monitor consumption/leadtimes/costs variances.
- Facilitate quarterly critical spares safety stock review and optimize inventory level
- Liaise with supply chain and demand planning teams to generate accurate forecasts for key suppliers
- Support end to end buying process converting requisitions, printing PO, receipting goods, stock sheet, JDE transactions in the absence of goods in controller
Supplier Management
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Generate supplier scorecard using established rating systems
- Request and assess supplier quotes on Price / Lead Time / MOQ for best possible price and quality offer where necessary
- Facilitate with quality departments (E6 & supplier) to ensure high quality standards are applied with thorough corrective actions implemented
- Perform new supplier screening process and manage system setup
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience in comparable role with knowledge of supply chain management principles, theories and processes
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Receptiveness to new ideas and adaptable to changing business priorities
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and use of ERP software packages such as JDE/SAP
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills, with an eye for detail
- Ability to work individually as well as collaborating with others to build rapport throughout the site
