    Air End Repair Technician - Responsible to overhaul all types of air ends, blowers and related equipment as found in industrial and mobile air compressors.

    Workshop based; no outside work expected.

    _*Smethwick, Birmingham *_

    _*Reporting Relationships*_

    The position reports to the Operations Director of the business unit.

    _*Responsibilities*_

    • Inspection, evaluation and cleaning of incoming air ends,
    • Support report preparation with written notes and photographs,
    • Repair and rebuild air ends using own experience as well as supervision/instruction from the Lead Technician/Operations Manager,
    • Test, paint, despatch as required,
    • Additional responsibilities (subject to incumbent's skills) forklift operation, machining, grinding, weld repair and fabrication, compressor service, repair of similar equipment.
    _*Compensation & Benefits*_

    • Work week 37 3⁄4 hours scheduled over 4 1⁄2 days,

    _*The Position Requirements - Air End Repair Technician*_

    _*Experience and skill set *_

    • The candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years in equipment service or machinery maintenance. Specific experience with the overhaul of air compressors, pumps or other rotating machinery would be beneficial.
    • High level of overall mechanical training and aptitude,
    • Experience with basic workshop machine tools,
    • Good understanding of mechanical equipment and how it works,
    • Experience working safely with lifting and machine tools,
    • Welding experience not specifically required but a key plus,
    • Ability to work well in a team environment, willing to perform all workshop functions in support of customer requirements,
    • Good communication skills, particularly to record evaluation findings and communicate within the team.
    _*Education *_

    • Applicable Engineering qualifications (eg City & Guilds Level 3) would be a plus.

    £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
