Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oneonone or small group tuition to students with SEN, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, dyslexia, dyspraxia, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans tailored to the specific needs and abilities of each student.
- Create engaging and interactive teaching materials and activities that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to succeed.
- Monitor student progress and assess learning outcomes regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure academic growth.
- Collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's education to provide holistic support and promote continuity of learning.
- Stay informed about best practices in SEN education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a tutoring or teaching capacity.
- Strong understanding of different SEN conditions and their impact on learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational needs of students with SEN.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of each student and respond to changing circumstances.
