What does it take to be a 1:1 Teaching Assistant?

Passion for education
Patience and understanding
No formal educational qualifications necessary however exeperience of SEN needs is essential.
Enhanced DBS Certificate available on the Update service (Teaching Personnel can assist)

Job role:

Working with one child in year 4 on a 1:1 basis.
Reading or explaining tasks to the child, understanding, and supporting their needs and keeping them focused on their tasks.
Manage challenging behaviours.
