- Proficiency in Surveying and 3D Modelling: various data capture methods tailored to client requirements for topographical deliverables, including the proficient use of automatic feature extraction software for surveys.

- Coordinating with various teams to integrate survey data seamlessly into project workflows.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions, effectively resolving technical challenges encountered during surveying tasks and optimising data processing solutions.
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant surveying standards, including those set by RICS, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry norms in data collection and deliverable production.
- Understanding and application of Quality and Safety Standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 19650, and OHSAS 18001.
- Contribute to the achievement of the financial success on the project, by:
- Maintaining daily timesheets and ensuring timely submission, while also reviewing and approving timesheets from team members.
- Developing, producing, and organising documentation and records to enhance overall efficiency in surveying operations.
- Identifying technical opportunities for value engineering and discussing with the Survey Manager.
- Collaborating with the Survey Manager to develop fee proposals and estimates.
- Assessing and documenting surveying variations or changes and providing input for Scope Change Records.
- Proactively identifying financial risks, problem areas, and potential overspending, and promptly reporting them to the Survey Manager for resolution.
- ISO 19650 Principles: ensuring compliance with fundamental BIM Level 2 principles during surveying activities.
- Model Navigation and Analysis.
- 3D Design Tools Utilisation: Effectively utilise 3D design tools to generate models from survey data according to project requirements, federates models, and adheres to standard methods for naming and attribute information.
- Academic Qualifications: Relevant Level 5 (or equivalent HNC/HND) or above qualification.
- Professional Qualifications: Membership of a relevant Professional Body e.g. MCInstCES.
- Experience in the land surveying of Civil Engineering sector.
- Experience in rail, bridges, earthworks, drainage and highways interfaces, with related experience of working with AmcoGiffen's key Clients including Network Rail, Transport for London, Environment Agency and Canal & River Trust.
- Proficiency in CAD Software.
- BIM Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles and methodologies tailored for surveying stages.
- Knowledge of Industry Standards.
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy in Surveying.

Having secured a number of long-term Frameworks with key clients, AmcoGiffen are further expanding our in-house Civil & Structural Design & Engineering team. We have a number of positions available at various levels for engineers who are committed to delivering the optimum design solution, building on their experience, and furthering their professional development.
The in-house design team consists of specialist designers at various levels of competency responsible for design engineering on a variety of civils, rail and engineering projects and frameworks including CP6, asset management contracts, infrastructure projects and tendered rail / civils schemes.
Projects can typically include bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms etc.), access for all schemes, structures including bridges, tunnels and footbridges.
The Role
The Senior Surveyor is dedicated to leading and executing surveying tasks with professionalism and efficiency. The role involves ensuring the accuracy and quality in surveying operations while cultivating strong collaborative relationships with internal clients and stakeholders.
The primary function of the role is to undertake topographical and land surveys, using total stations and laser point cloud systems. The role will involve developing and improving our internal survey process to ensure survey data is collected and delivered in the most efficient means possible.
