Fettler to join our team based in
Sheffield. This is a full-time, permanent role and in return, you will receive acompetitive salary, plus benefits


FVCprimarily serves the industrial gas turbine and aerospace industries, as well as markets with highly engineered component requirements. Using horizontal and vertical centrifugal castings, our skilled engineers create a vast range ofnear net shape products in more than 70 alloys, including high nickel alloys.


About the role:


As our Fettler, you will grind surfaces of as cast product, to meet visual acceptance criteria defined by the customer.


Principle Accountabilities of ourFettlerinclude:


  • Identifying product for fettling in accordance with production plans.
  • Grinding of castings to form of supply.
  • Arc-Air cast ribs and remove scale.
  • Shot blast / grit blast as cast and machined surfaces.
  • Loading castings using overhead pendant crane.
  • Completing paperwork in accordance with quality procedures.
  • General Housekeeping.
  • Working safely throughout all activities in line with FVC's safety standards and procedures.

The successfulFettlerwill be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience working as a fettler in a heavy casting industry.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety.
  • Basic understanding of environmental considerations.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills.

Desirable:


  • FLT Licence.
  • Manual handling qualification.
  • Experience of modern manufacturing techniques.
