Main Purpose


To establish and maintain an efficient production process within the company, satisfy the needs of the customers, whilst also making optimum use of the production resources and capabilities available.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the production planner and relevant teams to create, maintain and update a detailed production schedule daily. Primarily prioritised by delivery date but also striving to achieve optimal efficiency and mínimal downtime wherever possible to maximise cost saving to the business.
  • Liaise with the sales department and manufacturing department so all orders are scheduled to meet the customer delivery dates.
  • Work closely with employees across the business to ensure that production is aligned with demand.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of orders coming through the system for the near future, providing accurate forecasts based on the current schedule and working with numerous departments to ensure the current schedule can be met.
  • Making amendments to the current schedule to manage customer expectations, as and when required.
  • Control levels of stock envelopes and paper bags.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of customer product ensuring product is always available for calloff within a preagreed timescale, taking warehouse space, raw materials and peaks and troughs of usage into consideration.
  • Final check all job bags before they go to the shopfloor. Ensure all information is correct to eliminate errors, allowing the shop floor personnel to have all the necessary components required to produce the job. Including labels, stereos, print plates etc.
  • Prepare a daily production report for the Operations meeting, detailing an uptodate production schedule and including previous production performance and upcoming availability.
  • Prepare and provide daily handover notes at least 1 hour before you finish for the day, for the outofhour production.
  • Work with the production planner to participate in continuous improvement of planning systems and drive improved accuracy and efficiency.
  • Cover for the production planner when they are on holiday or absent.
  • Be trained in all areas of the production planner role as part of the succession plan.

You will be fully trained to become a Production Planner. Wage will be reviewed after training.
