Reed Finance are pleased to be supporting our client, who are an industry leading organisation based in Brentwood, who are looking for a hands-on, qualified accountant to take on the role of Head of AP and Financial Control on a 6-12 month contract basis.

This global services provider offer excellent benefits and support good work/life balance by offering hybrid working of 2 days in the office and 3 from home.

The role will likely run for between 6-12 months, although there is the chance it could run longer.

A few key responsibilities:

Lead and develop a high performing AP and Control team in a fast moving shared service environment
Oversee the AP and intercompany operations, ensuring high standards if service in line with SLAs and group accounting policies
Direct and supervise financial closing process to provide timely and accurate financial reporting
Building a strong and effective relationship between the onshore and offshore teams to drive performance
Capture team KPIs for Intercompany variances, clearance of open items and dispute resolution, reporting these to the Financial Operations Controller
Approval of bank reconciliations during month end close period, escalating any material reconciling items

A few key requirements:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Proven experience working in the Accounts Payable area
Experience within a shared service centre environment and/or experience with onshore and offshore operations would be preferable
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work under pressure and deliver on multiple deadlines
Strong IT skills (excel, word, graphs, PowerPoint)
