    Job Summary:

    Are you ready to put category thinking at the heart of our client's business? As a Category Executive, you will join a dynamic team where you will utilise your analytical skills to identify opportunities and risks for their customers and business. You will champion the shopper and influence change by implementing the Category Vision. Collaborating with various stakeholders in the brand and sales organisations, you will shape the direction of both our client and their customers' business.

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify category growth opportunities and threats for customers and our client's brands.
    • Build strategic external relationships with key customers.
    • Establish solid, credible internal relationships with commercial and brand colleagues.
    • Utilise qualitative and quantitative data to deliver rounded insight and recommendations.
    • Tailor the Category Strategy with customers to drive long-term scalable competitive advantage and growth.
    • Implement and deliver strategic, category-focused projects such as deep dives into promotions, underperforming segments, and range and space optimisation.
    • Support business planning through defining core ranges, SKU optimisation, and review and course correction of NPD & core.
    • Support selling stories into customers with strong category rationale.

    Role within the Team:

    • The Category team is part of the Commercial Strategic Execution, including Commercial Strategy & Planning and Shopper Marketing.
    • You will be responsible for specific customers or channels and collaborate with relevant sales colleagues and field sales teams.
    • Constant interaction with brand and colleagues to influence them on category matters and partake in business planning and wider engagement activities.
    • Active participation in wider initiatives, such as sustainability, health and wellness, and volunteering.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Category leadership experience (2+ years) gained in FMCG.
    • Ability to turn macro, category, shopper, and consumer data into actionable insights.
    • Track record of transitioning insight into action and delivery.
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in extracting actionable insights from various data sources.
    • Demonstrated leadership of projects across multiple teams.
    • Ability to engage customers and stakeholders in a strategic agenda.
    • Demonstrated strategic and category thought leadership.
    • Ability to create and deliver compelling category selling stories based on insights.
